Île D'Orleans and Parc De La Chute Montmorency

Because we are camped across the river from Quebec City in Levis, people told us to drive Rue St Laurent to the ferry and cross to old town. Fabulous view of the north bank as we drove along. Arrived at the ferry terminal. The wait for the ticket was longer than the boat ride.

Drove to Île D'Orleans as we were told of its beauty. Is a farming community on the river just down the river from Quebec. Drove it slowly as there were constant vista views, dotted with quaint little towns. Stopped at a winery. Their wine was cool climate wine, at best only fair, but nice atmosphere. Down the road, stopped at a cafe/chocolatier, had lunch and drooled over the chocolate, but maintained will power.

After the island tour, headed for Montmorency Waterfall. Hiked up 490 stairs and then over a suspension bridge to the top of the cable car tram. Fantastic vistas, this waterfall is 30 meters higher than Niagara Falls. Watched some people zip lining. Thought about it, but had to buy tickets at the entrance..  Then walked back down all the stairs. Great stairmaster!
